I have 16 years industry experience as an animator and designer – 10 years working for leading marketing agencies and for the past 5 years freelancing as part of creative partnership Meander. In this time I have worked on a wide variety of animation and design projects for brands including Jet2, NHS, Microsoft, EE, William Hill, ASDA and Aviva.
The Wander Bar
The Wander Bar came to us as a new business, needing branding, website and marketing materials. I came up with a pastel colour palette to support the vintage theme of the business, which translates well as a brand and on all marketing platforms from print to digital. I built the Wander Bar website has been in WordPress CMS. I also created various offline material including leaflets and an outdoor banner.
AccessPay
I have recently redesigned the website for Manchester based Fintech AccessPay. This required creating a more modern look and feel for the brand and designing numerous pages before handing back over to them to manage in WordPress. I have also been designing presentation documents (in particular recreating diagrams and icons), creating eBooks, landing pages and ad campaigns.
Fruity Pots
One of the websites I have designed as a outsourced project for an agency in Sheffield while freelancing – I designed desktop and mobile versions of each page to hand over to their dev team to work up in house.
The Connection
During my last agency job I designed and rebranded the Nokia/Microsoft site Lumia Connection – an online learning platform for their sales teams. I created numerous campaigns including homepage takeover designs, animations, games designs, html5 game builds and banners.
RescueMyCar
RescueMyCar came to us needing a fresh looking website to keep up with the competition. Working within their brand guidelines and colour palette we designed a much clearer design and visual hierarchy to allow much simpler site navigation and user experience. I have also designed and built marketing emails for numerous campaigns for RescueMyCar as well as their sister companies.
Animation and Video
Coming from a degree in animation I’ve always been keen to work in this area, and have led this offering for Meander over the last 5 years – this includes working directly for clients such as Jet2 and NHS, as well as freelancing for agencies. I work with clients at the initial planning stage, creating the scripts, creative style, character designs and storyboards (using Adobe Illustrator) or I can take existing storyboards and bring them to life using the Adobe Suite (predominantly After Effects).
Email Marketing
Design and build of html emails varying from hand coded, bespoke, responsive emails to creating MailChimp template emails. I have designed and built html emails for clients such as La Redoute, Butlins, The Open University, ASDA, and totes Isotoner and also been responsible for Litmus and Campaign Monitor testing.
Custom icon design
An icon can look very simple but it can convey a lot of information. I have designed many bespoke icons for use in infographics, websites, presentations, and animations. Recently I have been creating many icons and diagrams to help explain how FinTechs work in a more digestible way.
Apps and Mobile Ad Landing pages
During my last agency role I was responsible for designing and building numerous mobile landing pages for Nokia products. I also designed apps, including one for eLearning within the Microsoft sales teams.
Games
I have designed numerous games – some of which I have built using Construct2 (or Flash in days gone by!) and others I have passed on with the required assets to app developers to build.
Banner Advertising
I have created 1000s of animated display banners – designed in Illustrator, I built many Flash banners over the years, before switching the HTML banners in the more recent years using GWD or Adobe Animate. This often includes rolling out many sizes as well as creating backup GIFs and sometimes in various languages or using dynamic text areas.
Logo Design
I have designed numerous logos and supporting brand guidelines including developing colour palettes and fonts.
Design for Print
While not predominantly my area I have designed many creatives for print, including everything from business cards, flyers and booklets through to large format PVC banners. I’ve also designed up numerous PowerPoint and Google slides for presentations.
Social Media
I have designed many social media creatives including cover images, static and animated organic/paid posts and stories. This included a recent 6 month contract predominantly doing social media creative concept/design.
